Pop Party

A Party with POP!

As featured in the April issue of Vanity Fair, Giancarlo Giammetti celebrated his birthday this year with a POP-themed party at his London residence.  The invitation read “Dress Code: POP” and guests, including Valentino, Anne Hathaway, Cameron Diaz and Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, arrived looking like the Museum of Modern Art (or Carnaby Street) had come to life.

As reported by Vanity Fair, “guests came dressed as their favorite artists, while a few personified art and art symbols. One couple arrived as Warhol’s bananas. Another wore a tuxedo and carried Campbell’s soup cans.”

Lichtenstein and Warhol prints lined the walls as guests sat on sofas inspired by Piet Mondrian paintings and Salvatore Dali lips. They nibbled on primary-colored macaroons and danced atop psychedelic flowers.

The evening concluded with Giancarlo being presented a POP cake created by London’s premier pastry chef as Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, Charlene de Ganay, Nati Abascal, Elizabeth von Guttman, Alexia Niedzeilski, Michele Mora, Tatiana Santo Domingo, Margherita Missoni, Eugenie Niarchos, Tracy Amon, and even a look-a-like Queen of England, looked on.
